OK, this is a bit off-topic, but I find it interesting nonetheless. Out of curiosity, I ran a google search for ‘mormon single life,’ and here’s what I got:
Now, there are a few things to note: First, Google is using the cached version of my original page–note that it’s called E-Indeed: The Rant. I originally called it that, but it was changed the moment I made my first post to be a bit less aggressive. That said, I know I do tend to get on rants as I write, hence the original title.
Anyway, I do find it interesting that in the actual results, the only sites that outrank mine are dating sites, and only one of those. I find it even more interesting because at the time I only had one post. I’m not sure what that says, but it indicates to me once again that we need more honest discussion about being single and LDS in the 21st century. I take a bit of pride that I rank that highly, and hope that as time goes by I’ll move up even more in the rankings. I did NO Search Engine Optimization in this case–even as a former web-developer, this was just drag and drop with the wordpress software and themes. Impressive, in my book. Anyways, see you in the blogosphere!
